Shutters & Blinds Faq

Can plantation and timber shutters be installed on any window- Yes shutters can be installed on virtually any internal window the only limitation is where there is a false ceiling or pelmet which will inhibit them from opening?

Why so long to get them made-Because Shutters are custom made to suit your window size, delivery is about 6-8 weeks direct from our factory.

Why Shutters- Plantation and Timber Shutters are alternative to soft drapes and allow you to control light and privacy and add elegance to your home.

Can you offer a measuring & installation service- Yes we can, after accepting our quote for your windows measurements we will happily come out and do a check measure and give you a final quote we will also advise what is the best type/style of shutter suitable for your window.

How much will you need as a deposit- Because shutters are custom made we will require a deposit of 50% of the value order and the balance upon delivery to your home before installation.

Why are your prices so competitive- Most people selling plantation and timber shutters are are resellers who buy from a wholesaler/middleman who then buys from a factory, because we cut out the wholesaler/middleman/reseller and deal direct with the factory which manufactures them, we then pass on these savings to you.

What size louvre should I choose for my window- When selecting a louvre / shutter consider the size of the widow and desired effect required. Generally larger windows require a larger louvre and smaller windows a smaller size louvre, and there are three different size louvers available. The other thing to keep in mind is where the frame of the shutter is to be placed, inside the window frame (reveal) or on the outside of the window opening, this may determine the louvre size for you depending on how deep the window is.

How many shutter panels will I need for my window- Our shutters smallest width size is 200mm and our widest is 900mm and in height we can go up to 3000mm but will have to add a dividing rail anything above 1800mm. This dividing rail can be positioned at an adjusted height to match your existing window rail.

What type of shutter styles do you offer-  There are two main plantation and timber shutter styles, one with a tilt rod or a clearview, the clearview is becoming more popular. Also there are two types of blade either flat or elliptical shape, again the elliptical is becoming more popular.
